Commonwealth Masters Scholarships 2022 – Scholarships Abroad

Eligibility for Commonwealth Masters Scholarships

To be eligible for these Commonwealth Masters Scholarships, you have to:

  • Be a national of or have been awarded refugee status by a qualified Commonwealth nation, or be a British Protected Person
  • Be permanently living in a qualified Commonwealth nation
  • Be available to commence your academic program in the UK by the commencement of the UK academic session in September/October 2022
  • By September 2022, possess a first degree of a minimum of upper second class (2:1) honors standard, or a second class degree (2:2) and a related postgraduate qualification (typically a Master’s degree program).
  • The Commonwealth Masters Scholarships would not normally finance a second UK Master’s degree. If you are putting in for a second UK Master’s degree program, you will have to provide explanation as to why you are looking to take on this study
  • Not be able to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship award
  • Have supplied all supporting documents in the specified format

How to Apply for Commonwealth Masters Scholarships

  • You have to apply to one of the following nominating agencies in the first instance – the CSC does not take direct applications from individuals for these scholarship awards:
    • National nominating agencies – this is the primary method of application
    • Designated non-governmental establishments and charitable bodies
  • All applications have to be made via one of these nominating agencies. Each nominating body is accountable for its own selection procedure and may have extra eligibility conditions.
  • You have to check with your nominating body for their particular advice and regulations for applying, their own eligibility conditions, and their own deadline for applications.
  • You have to make your application through the CSC’s online application system, as well as any other application that you are needed to complete by your nominating body. The CSC will not take any applications that are not handed in through the online application system.
  • You are recommended to fill out and submit your application as soon as you can, as the online application system will be quite busy in the days leading up to the application closing date.

Application Deadline

Applications for Commonwealth Masters Scholarships for the academic session 2022/23 will open on 20 September 2021 and will end on 01 November 2021. The closing date to submit supporting documents is 22 November 2021. The nomination closing date is 22 December 2021.
